Sorry mum... I am alive

So my mum (no, that is not a typo - that's how we spell it) spoke with me the other day from Australia wondering if everything was ok. She was a little worried that something bad may have happened because there were no new updates on the website!

Well mum, rest assured, I am ok. We all are.

For everyone else wondering, we've been having a great time on tour these past 2 weeks. There have been some highs and some intense lows. I'm going to give you 3 highlights

1. The night driving from Columbus, OH to Greensville, NC was the longest and scariest night of our bands career! The snow/ice/rain/sleet was so intense. What was meant to be an 8 hour drive took us about 13! There were times we couldn't even see the road - it was just all white. We passed a semi-trailer in the ditch on its side! We were freaked. I personally wondered a few times if we were going to make it. Thanks to God though! We made it.

2. The WinterJam show have been great these last 2 weeks. We've been in Ohio (twice), North Carolina, South Carolina (twice), Georgia, and Alabama. We've to huge audiences, but probably our favorite show from this time was last Sunday morning at Hope Point Community church in SC. We led worship and played a bunch of our own stuff - and then got to listen to an incredible preacher (Richard Smith) bring us the word. It was SO refreshing, so reenergizing. We spend so much energy out on the road and to stop and take for ourselves for a moment was beautiful.

3. Well, we had a great show tonight in Greenville, SC. Due to really bad traffic, the crew didn't arrive in till 1pm (they normally get started at 8am or so.) So it basically meant that we went on 45 mins late - and got to play to a packed house. Here are some photos Pip took...

During some nights, Dave jumps down into the audience and picks someone to sing...

I like this one. It looks like Dave is sternly saying "eat it"

Well, that's it for now. Mum, I'll call you soon.

Great job on the Winter Jam tour. It's good to see you guys rocking along side of Mac and the boys of Third Day still. I enjoyed the Augusta, GA show, and look forward to seeing you guys in stage again soon.

Dave, the next time you have a few days off, and are home in Atlanta, let me know. I would love to take you and your wife to lunch or dinner. My treat, of course. Just look me up.

I can't wait to get a copy of the new CD in hand. I have heard "Blink", and give it two thumbs up.

Be careful out there on the road and keep on rockin for Jesus.

My thanks to all of you for giving such a great inhouse concert Friday in Erie Illinois. You guys are the greatest and it was so awesome to see young people wittnessing for God. I didn't make the Winter Jam but my daughter, granddaughter and nieces were there. It was something they said they would never forget and it was so moving. God's blessings to all of you and I will keep you and your touring in my prayers. Come back soon!
